The Great Haleakala

Totally blown away by the immensity of the Haleakala Crater, 10,000ft above sea-level. Absolute silence up here. There is a crater at the top which is 7 miles by 2 miles in size and 2,600ft deep. It is impossible to describe. We got to see the sunrise up here on the day of the full moon, so the moon was setting a deep red just as the sun popped out above the clouds. I will post more pics when I get hold of my other computer as the pics deserve some serious photoshop action. But for now here is a pic right at the top looking out over the clouds.
